ABOUT US

Founded in 1998, Shenyang Transformation International School is a non-profit full-time school for children of foreign workers. Shenyang Transformation International School approved by the Ministry of Education in Shenyang and located in Hunnan New District. The school currently has more than 100 students from 16 countries, including the United States, South Korea, Canada etc. It has a complete kindergarten, primary, middle and high school education system. It offers AP courses in high school and as of August 2020, Shenyang International School offers Edexcel A-Level courses. In September 2020, the Academic Competition Center of Shenyang International School was established to provide training and examination for many international competitions such as the University of Waterloo Mathematics Competition and the AMC Australian Mathematics Competition.

We have a history of serving international students and families in Shenyang for over a quarter of a century. We were founded in 1998 and have been putting seniors in colleges and universities around the world ever since. We currently have students and staff from 5 continents from countries like Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

From our students and their families to our staff and their families, our core values are focused on transforming young lives through a wide variety of teaching and learning opportunities.

We are a College Board approved testing center for SAT and AP exams. We have a full time college counselor on staff. Our graduates have advanced to college for over 25 years. Our 21st Century teaching includes computer science courses for all grade levels. Courses range from grade 1 hands on orientation in the computer lab to exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, to AP Level coding, programming, and writing games and APPs.

ACADEMICS

What We Offer

Our kindergarten students receive love and care with learning ongoing through all they do. All traditional kindergarten content is presenting through singing, dancing, laughter, repeating, and doing things. Our International and Chinese National kindergarten staff are nurturing and caring teachers.

The core of our elementary curriculum is using the Wonders program for English and the Fusion program for science. Social Studies, customs, and culture are built into these two foundations. Teachers use their vast prior teaching experience to supplement and enhance their teaching. All elementary classes have weekly opportunities in music, art, physical education, library, and computer lab. Weekly fun assemblies, field trips, projects, and special events provide learning opportunities in fun ways.

These transition years from elementary school to high school can be challenging for students. Our students continue with core content in languages, math, histories, and sciences. Computer science moves from foundational topics to ???

A wide variety of courses are offered to assure students receive the required 24 high school credits. Many AP Level courses are offered every year for those students who are motivated and pursuing college enrollment. To further enhance the quality of college applications, we make opportunities available through extracurricular activities like Toastmasters International Gavel Club, Honors Math Mu Alpha Theta Club, Morning Broadcast Club, Model United Nations, Student Council, and many others.

Our foriegn teaching staff comes from countries all over the world and offer a wide range of persepctives and expertise in various subjects.

Local Staff

Our local staff offer students expert insights and knowledge of Chinese culture and language and also serve as a point of contact for local students and parents.

Administration

Our administration team is made up of both local and foreign staff to ensure that the values of our school are implemented in a globalized way.
